Today on the Rarified Heir Podcast, we are talking to Jordan Summer, whose father Yale Summers was an actor who was both beloved by actors in front of the camera and perhaps more so behind the camera. You see, while many fans might remember Yale from his years on the television sixties series Daktari as Jack Dane, it was his time working for the Screen Actors Guild that realty endeared him to his fellow actors. A co-founder and producer of the SAG Awards which is a mainstay during awards season it was Yale’s work as a union man that is his lasting legacy. He was a passionate advocate for actors and the acting profession as he was both secretary and treasurer for SAG and also trustee of the SAG Pension and Health Fund.

This episode with Jordan was the first episode we ever recorded on Zoom as Covid hit pretty hard as we all remember and this was a fun episode to record.  You see,  Jordan and host Josh Mills attended high school together in the 80s. No, not Oakwood but University High School. We get to hear about an amazing Uni High music class Jordan attended that featured  a future Grammy winner, Warren Zevon’s son – also named Jordan – and future members of The Wallflowers, Buckcherry and Fishbone.

We bounce back and forth between Yale and Jordan talking about Yale’s eclectic acting career in shows such as The Outer Limits, My Three Sons & Emergency! as well as summer vacations spent with Michelle Lee & then-husband James Farentino and some of the amazing phone messages Yale would receive from celebrities that were commonplace.

And with that’s, it’s time for the Rarified Heir Podcast encore episode with Jordan Summers. Everyone has a story.
